Could Too Faced not produce any more cute collections, especially around the holidays?
This holiday, the main star is the Too Faced Gingerbread collection, featuring the new Gingerbread Spice Palette ($49) and two matte lipsticks: Gingerbread Girl and Gingerbread Man ($21).
The Gingerbread Palette is practically sold out everywhere except for Macy’s (which is the link where the palette is). Yep, it’s that popular: It’s no longer available at Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, the Too Faced website, Mecca (for Australians) Cult Beauty and Debenhams (for
It is packaged like the Chocolate and Sweet Peach Palettes, with a mirror inside. A cute gingerbread man is placed on the outside and inside with the mirror along with some icing to frame the design. And yes, it has that gingerbread smell with hints of cinnamon, which I actually like more than the chocolate scents (I also still love those as well!)
There are 18 shades (0.43 oz each), most of which are warm neutrals, red and berries along with matte, shimmer and metallic formulas. The pigmentation is outstanding, even among the metallics. Honestly, there is like little or no fallout and the shades blend effortlessly. The only shade I don’t care too much for is Frostbite Me!, the shimmery blinding white shade. I can’t really see myself using it except for
Here are the shades in order, from top to bottom, left to right:
Powdered Sugar (matte cream)
Spiked Eggnog (metallic champagne)
Gumdrop (matte fuschia)
Gingerbread (matte warm brown)
Warm & Toasty (metallic warm gold)
Ooo Burn! (metallic plum with gold sparkle)
Frostbite Me! (shimmering frosty white)
Lookie at my Cookie (matte peach)
Spice is Nice (matte burnt orange)
Oh Snap! (metallic pinky peach brown)
Bake it ’til you Make it (metallic reddish brown)
Spice of Life (metallic golden olive)
Sugar Daddy (matte baby pink)
Figgy Pudding (matte plum)
Hot Toddy (metallic hot pink)
Reindeer Paws (matte espresso brown)
Gingerbread Latte (matte medium gingerbread brown)
Spiced Rum (metallic cool-toned brown)
For this look, I applied Gingerbread Latte as the base. I swiped Gingerbread on the crease. I tapped Spiked Eggnog on the middle of my lid and under my browbone. I tapped Ooo Burn! on each side of my lid and used Reindeer Paws for my outer corner.
Now let’s talk about lips. A part of the Too Faced Gingerbread collection are two limited-edition Melted Matte lipsticks: Gingerbread Man and Gingerbread Girl (see the cute gingerbread designs on the cap above?) Oh and yes, they both smell like gingerbread.
Gingerbread Man was so incredibly hard to find as it was sold out everywhere online, but I was able to find it at Sephora in-store. It is a bright pumpkin orange: I’d say Smashbox’ liquid lipstick “Out Loud” is the closest dupe. Gingerbread Girl, on the other hand, is a more burnt reddish brown. I actually prefer this shade because it’s more friendly for everyday wear, and it’s just so flattering on my skin tone! I do love Gingerbread Man too though. I can just see myself wearing Gingerbread Girl after the holiday season.
So there you have it! Unfortunately, most of the products are sold out online…but if you can find them in store, go and grab them! I couldn’t be happier with the warm tones and the lipstick shades. I also consider myself a Too Faced palette “collector”: I don’t have every single one, but I have the 4 Chocolate Bars (Original, Semi-Sweet, Bon Bons, Chocolate Gold), Sweet Peach, Natural Matte, Peanut Butter and Jelly and one of the Tutti Frutti ones. Of course, I use them too.
Have you gotten a hold of the Too Faced Gingerbread Collection yet?
