I never thought I would admit this. Throughout my 5-year blogging journey, I was all about searching for the newest makeup release, buying it, swatching and writing a review.
NYX Lip Lingerie Push-Up Long-Lasting Lipstick
You’re probably familiar with NYX’s Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks, but they have now released a version in lip crayon form!
Mented Cosmetics Everyday Eyeshadow Palette
Mented Cosmetics is an underrated, yet innovative and stunning brand that I absolutely adore. They create makeup (especially nude lipsticks) BY and FOR women of color, and I have kindly received some of their lipsticks and lip glosses. So when I found out that they released an eyeshadow palette, I simply had to get it. Lucky me that I bought it weeks ago, because it’s now sold out.
3 nude blushes for medium/tan skin
Just like with nude lipsticks, it’s difficult to find nude blushes if you aren’t fair-skinned.
2 new eyeliners from NYX
I was in need of new eyeliners because my beloved The Balm Schwing liquid liner was starting to go bad. Although I love Stila and MUFE eyeliners, I did not want to spend $$ on them at the moment. When I was browsing in Ulta, I saw walked by the NYX section and saw scoped out some of the eyeliners. I purchased the That’s the Point liquid eyeliner (in the tip “Put a Wing on It”) and the Always Keepin’ it Tight eyeliner (in the shade “Brown).
Depuff and decrease dark circles with VII code O2M Oxygen Eye Mask
I’m always on the hunt for concealers, correctors, and eye creams to help hide (and depuff) my pesky dark circles and find lines. Lately, I’ve been slacking off on looking for eye creams, serums and treatments because I found my holy grail corrector+concealer combo and have been wearing that everyday, even if I don’t have any sort of foundation. However, it’s actually better to tackle and treat the problem instead of just hiding it (like with everything else in life).
6 Valentine’s Day Lipsticks
I will look for any sort of excuse to wear lipstick, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. Whether you want the typical red or a more soft, romantic pink, I got you covered and puckered up!
Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in “Dolce Vita”
Happy February everyone! I hate to say it because everyone else probably has and I am repeating the chorus…but 2018 has going pretty quickly so far. Next thing you know, Cecilio and I will be celebrating our 9 years together on the 15th and our 1 year wedding anniversary next month!
Kat von D Farm Sanctuary Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Hilda”
I have a love-hate relationship with liquid lipsticks as they tend to dry my lips out out, but there are certain brands worth suffering for. For me, Kat von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are one of them.
Too Faced Chocolate Gold Palette
As much as I love Too Faced, I haven’t bought a lot of products from them because I felt like the packaging and quality of the eyeshadows (and other products) dipped. It also felt like they were just trying to push out as much limited edition items as possible. Like I said, their latest palettes felt half-assed, such as the mini Chocolate Chip palettes (which is just an all-matte version of the Chocolate Bar palette). While I loved the concept of the Clover palette (how CEO Jerrod Blandino pays homage to his dog and donated money to Best Friends Animal Society), I wasn’t too hot about the shades or the overly cute packaging. It’s something my 12-year-old self would’ve loved, and trust me, I do love cute things! And let’s not get to how I think the colors of the new White Chocolate Bar palette are way too light and not WoC-friendly. No thank you. However, when I saw photos months ago of the Too Faced Chocolate Gold palette, I knew I needed it in my hands.
