I briefly talked about the Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Moisturizing Face Sunscreen from February’s
Suntegrity describes this baby as beauty-boosting skincare, sunscreen and makeup all in one! I whole-heartedly agree with this statement. It is medium coverage so it’s almost similar to a BB cream, but with clean ingredients and none of the nasties (silicones, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, chemical UV absorbers, synthetic dyes, etc.). But it’s also a sunscreen with SPF 30. It is even considered a dupe for the Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer according to their swap list.
It contains Vitamin C + E which helps nourishes the skin, peptides (the anti-aging properties), hyaluronic acid to hydrate, and environmental shield to protect against pollutants and allergens.
It also contains non-nano zinc oxide. A nano is a particle that goes into the bloodstream whereas non-nano does not. However, there is no set standard of how many nanometers in which a particle is considered “nano” or “non-nano”, so if you want more information, click here.
At $55 for the full size (2 oz), it’s not cheap. But! If you want to test it out before you pull the trigger, you can purchase samples (which are 0.25 oz) for $6.95. They ship in the U.S. and 27 different countries (click here to see if your country is listed). Because I had the shade in “Sand” in the box, I bought the full version of it and a sample size of “Tan”.
The full-sized tube comes with a pump, and it almost reminds me of IT Cosmetics’ CC Cream, whereas the sample sizes are squeezable tubes and can take a week or two to finish. You only need to pump once because it squirts out a lot of product!
There are only five shades: Ivory, Buff, Sand, Tan
Ivory (very fair skin): Nicole Kidman, Dakota Fanning, Emma Stone, Amy Adams, Anne Hathaway, Yang Mi, LyNhaky Fan BingBing, Song Hye Kyo and Bai Fu Mei.
Buff (light skin): Angelina Jolie, Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts, Katie Holmes, Carrie Underwood, Tao Okamoto, Shu Qi, Kim Sung Ryung, Soon Yoon Ah and Go Doo Shim.
Sand (golden undertone for the actresses when they have a tan): Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu
Tan (medium and olive skin): Eva Mendez, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry
Bronze (darker skin): Kerry Washington, Zoe Saldana, Marsha Thomason
Right now, the shade Sand fits me perfectly, but during the summer I’m probably going to need Tan.
Now for my opinion..how do I feel about it?
I LOVE IT!!!
I mean, I obviously do enough to spend $50 on it. Though it’s supposed to be matte, it does not look or feel that way and it feels more of a satin finish (not too dewy, which is good because I don’t want to look oily). Matte bases usually look horrible on me because I have dry skin. But this does not accentuate the dry patches on my face and it makes my dull, dry skin look filtered. It’s medium coverage so it’s able to hide my redness, but doesn’t make me look caked up. This is great for all seasons, especially for the summer when you don’t want to be bothered with a lot of paint on your face. So it’s great for everyday makeup when you don’t want to be bothered taking the time to fully doll up.
I also have bad habit of not wearing sunscreen (I know, I know…) which is especially important because most lupus patients are sensitive to the sun. I am thankful I’m not as sensitive but I don’t want to gamble it and suffer the consequences of sun damage in the long run.
